According to Reuters, peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured when Hezbollah tried to prevent Israeli troops from landing in the village of Ramya in southern Lebanon on October 13.
The United Nations and many Western countries strongly condemned Israel's attacks in Lebanon, which negatively affected UNIFIL.
There is no sign that the Israeli military entered Ramya to destroy nuclear facilities or carry out an assassination, according to NBC.
An unnamed US official said that Israel has not yet made a final decision on the ground campaign in Lebanon since it began in early October. Israel said it would continue to deploy ground troops in southern Lebanon to destroy Hezbollah's infrastructure.
In recent days, the Israeli air force has destroyed 200 targets including multiple rocket launchers, anti-tank guns and a series of other Hezbollah infrastructure.
UNIFIL personnel were injured in Israeli attacks that continued on October 10 and 11. Four people were injured, two of whom were Indonesian nationals.
Israel says its military considers any armed person operating in southern Lebanon - where a ground operation is underway - a threat and must be eliminated.
UNIFIL's mission was to oversee the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon following the 1978 invasion of Lebanon that Israel had launched.
The Lebanese government says the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has killed 2,100 people and injured 10,000 since it began last October. About 1.2 million people have been displaced by Israel's ground campaign in Lebanon.
