The fire flared up fiercely on the left wing, forcing the pilot of the US plane to make an emergency landing immediately after leaving the runway.

A serious problem occurred to US airline Delta Airlines when the Boeing 767-400 suddenly caught fire in the left engine while takeoff from Los Angeles International Airport. The pilot had to turn around and make an emergency landing to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

The incident occurred on flight number DL446, which was scheduled to fly from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Georgia. As soon as they discovered any unusual signs, the flight crew decided to turn around and return to the departure airport. The plane then landed safely and was immediately approached by firefighters for technical inspection.

Delta Airlines confirmed: Dela Flight 446 returned to Los Angeles shortly after takeoff, after the system detected a problem in the left engine. Fortunately, all passengers and crew were safe.

This is the second incident involving a Delta plane in recent times. Previously, flight number DL1334 using a Boeing 757, flying from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale, also had an accident when a passenger battery suddenly exploded in the cabin. The passenger described the chaotic moment with cabin fog and screams, while the flight attendant had to use a fire extinguisher to control the fire.

Delta said the fire caused by a detonated battery was brought under control in time and did not cause any casualties.

Currently, the Federal Aviation Administration and authorities are investigating the cause of the engine fire on flight DL446. At the same time, requirements for a thorough review of the technical safety process for the Boeing aircraft in operation have also been implemented to prevent similar risks in the future.
