US and Iran suspend attacks

US President Donald Trump decided to temporarily suspend airstrikes against Iran to create an opportunity for negotiations.

According to AFP, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said that the suspension of airstrikes will facilitate the possibility of resuming negotiations.

President Trump said that the decision was made after countries acting as intermediaries and some countries in the region asked the US to create more opportunities for negotiations.

We are conducting very deep negotiations with Iran. If unsuccessful, we will return to very strong military action," Trump said.

Meanwhile, Iran denies information that it is negotiating with the US to end the conflict.

Intermediaries can still send us messages from the US regarding the current situation in the region. However, at this time, we are not participating in any negotiations with the US," said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on July 27 (local time) affirmed that the US did not participate in recent discussions between Tehran and Muscat.

Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also expressed disagreement with the US's behavior. "As long as the US continues to behave like that, we cannot expect a reasonable process to be formed," he said.

The US has suspended its air strike campaign against Iran since July 24 after 13 consecutive nights of attacking its targets. Iran also announced the cessation of retaliatory strikes against US targets in the Middle East.
