According to TASS, on August 10 (local time), the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the country's air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 456 fixed-wing UAVs of Ukraine in many areas of Russia overnight.
The UAVs were shot down in the provinces of Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Belgorod, Oryol, Voronezh, Rostov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Orenburg, Samara, Moscow, Krasnodar, Republic of Tatarstan and the Crimean peninsula.
According to local media, the city of Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, suffered a large-scale UAV attack targeting industrial and civilian facilities. Authorities later confirmed 12 deaths and 39 injuries.
Additional medical teams were mobilized from the city of Naberezhnye Chelny to Nizhnekamsk to support emergency and treatment work. A medical support coordination center was also established at the Nizhnekamsk Central General Hospital.
Functional agencies are urgently overcoming the consequences of the attack. The Tatarstan Prosecutor's Office said that this agency is monitoring the protection of people's rights in Nizhnekamsk and coordinating with relevant agencies.
On the same day, in Rostov province, Governor Yury Slyusar informed that more than 70 UAVs were shot down in the city of Kamensk - Shakhtinsky and some other districts. According to local officials, air defense forces in Tula province destroyed 9 UAVs, while 16 UAVs were shot down in Kaluga province and 11 UAVs were shot down in Voronezh province.
Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed that UAV debris caused a side structure to catch fire, breaking windows and damaging heating pipes and fences at some houses. In another locality in the province, 9 houses, 3 cars and 1 tractor were also affected. Functional agencies are continuing to inspect the scene and assess damage.
