Russian airstrikes paralyze power grids in southern Ukraine

7 substations and the Odessa thermal power plant of Ukraine were neutralized by Russia, disrupting the power bridge with neighboring countries Moldova and Romania.

Russia's attacks on August 10 targeting energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine have truly paralyzed the power center of this region, said Yevgeny Poddubny - a candidate for the State Duma of the United Russia party and a Hero of Russia.

Damage to energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine is of particular importance: the consequence of the attacks is that 7 substations have stopped operating, including 5 key 330kV facilities including Artsyz, Mayaki, Usatovo, Novoodesskaya and Tsentrolit (in Ilyinovka village). Combined with damage to the Odessa Thermal Power Plant, this has actually paralyzed the power center of southern Ukraine," Yevgeny Poddubny noted on the social networking application Max.

According to TASS, Mr. Poddubny added that Russia has hit Ukrainian drone assembly and storage workshops. The operation of an electrical bridge ensuring electricity between southern Ukraine and neighboring Moldova and Romania has been interrupted, limiting the ability to redistribute power in the unified power system.

Attacks targeting logistical communication routes and energy facilities serving the operations of the Ukrainian armed forces are systematic: they aim to disrupt enemy logistical support, hinder the transfer of reserve forces and reduce the intensity of equipment and drones. And these attacks will certainly continue," Yevgeny Poddubny concluded.
