After Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda's statement that Russia is planning to attack infrastructure in the Baltic, a Kremlin spokesman spoke out.

According to TASS on July 15, local time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda's statement about Russia's planned attack on facilities in the Baltic a "wave of new fear" to impact the people and prepare to "aim for further militarization".

Accordingly, after these statements, Lithuania and the Baltic countries may bring more NATO forces and infrastructure to the region.

Previously, on July 15, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda warned that Russia may be preparing targeted attacks on key infrastructure in Lithuania and other Baltic countries to test NATO's solidarity.

Mr. Nauseda said that Lithuanian intelligence agencies have received signs that Russia is planning activities targeting key infrastructure, although the specific location or time has not been determined.

The Lithuanian leader said that the attack could take many forms to cause material damage to infrastructure, including sabotage or drone attacks. According to Mr. Nauseda, Lithuania has strengthened security around key transportation and energy infrastructure.

Also in a statement on July 15, the Kremlin stated its views on the situation in Ukraine, noting that currently, the US is not focusing on the Ukraine issue because the situation in the Persian Gulf is becoming more complicated.

The Americans are currently busy with other issues. Unfortunately for all of us, the situation in the Persian Gulf is far from stable and is even worsening again. This cannot help but cause global concern. Therefore, the Americans are currently not focused on the Ukraine issue," Mr. Peskov said.

The spokesman said that the Kremlin received a signal through existing channels that the US is ready to resume efforts to reconcile the Ukraine issue after the Iranian situation is resolved.

Also in the statement, the Kremlin affirmed that Russia did not send any messages to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky through Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is visiting Kiev. "No, we did not send any messages" - he affirmed, while noting that so far, Serbia has not participated in reconciliation efforts on the Ukraine issue.

Regarding the US plan to sanction Russia, the Kremlin is closely monitoring and analyzing recent US statements about sanctions against Russia. "We are closely monitoring and analyzing statements made at the working level and by the US President. We will observe developments," Mr. Peskov added.
