Russia may sell gas to Western countries if there is surplus after supplying to other markets, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov shared on April 12.
If there is still gas after supplying to alternative markets, then why not? Currently, the supply is very abundant and we have surplus. However, alternative markets are very in need and have many supply requirements" - he said.
Mr. Peskov also said that Europe will find a way to buy gas even if Russia does not supply it. "There are many gas refineries, both in Europe and the Middle East, so this spot market operates like a living body," he added.
Mr. Peskov commented that, besides some politicians who understand the need to put national interests first and do not rule out the possibility of cooperation with Russia, there are still some leaders who lack vision when deciding to abandon Russian oil and gas.
