Key road in Dong Nai to be expanded to 10 lanes to eliminate congestion

HÀ ANH CHIẾN |

Dong Nai - Bui Van Hoa road, 5.56 km long from Tam Hiep underpass to Vo Nguyen Giap road, will be upgraded and expanded with a scale of 10 lanes.

According to reporters' records, Bui Van Hoa street is a key road from the central area to National Highway 51, National Highway 1 bypass and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to Ho Chi Minh City... However, the current situation of this road is only 12m-15m wide, on both sides of the road are crowded residential areas where trucks and container trucks regularly enter and exit... from Bien Hoa 2 industrial park, Loteco industrial park, Tan Cang - Long Binh area...

In addition, during peak hours, this is a route for workers to travel regularly during working hours and after work, workers also rent rooms in areas along Bui Van Hoa street.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, living near Bui Van Hoa street, said that this road is often congested during peak hours, especially from the intersection with the entrance to Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park to gate 11 roundabout.

According to the Department of Construction, Dong Nai province is very interested in and identifies the investment in upgrading and expanding Bui Van Hoa road as a key and urgent task to definitively solve the prolonged traffic congestion situation. This road directly connects to National Highway 51 and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, contributing to completing the main traffic network connecting to Long Thanh airport, investment is extremely necessary to serve the socio-economic development and travel needs of people.

In early April 2026, the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee issued a document approving the policy of assigning the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to be the investor, preparing investment proposal dossiers for the Bui Van Hoa road upgrade and expansion project; at the same time, reviewing and implementing procedures to stop implementing the Project in the form of public investment and implementing procedures in the PPP method.

Previously, in early 2025, Dong Nai province also invited investors for the project to upgrade and expand Bui Van Hoa road, with a scale of 10 lanes, about 5.56 km long. The project has a total investment of 8.552 billion VND, in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
