Russian forces attacked Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure, ammunition, fuel and military equipment storage depots, along with Ukrainian army and foreign mercenaries' garrisons on August 31, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.
Tactical air force, combat drones, missile and artillery forces belonging to combat clusters of the Russian armed forces have attacked Ukrainian fuel, energy and transport infrastructure, logistics centers serving the Ukrainian army, drone assembly and storage points, ammunition, fuel, military equipment depots, and temporary garrisons of Ukrainian armed units and foreign mercenaries at 142 locations," the report stated.
In the opposite direction, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 239 Ukrainian drones overnight over many areas of Russia and the Black Sea.
During the night, combat air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 239 fixed-wing drones of Ukraine over Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Tambov, Tula, Moscow and Krasnodar regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea and the Black Sea," the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
For the whole day, Russian air defense forces announced that they had shot down 766 fixed-wing drones, 7 guided bombs and 3 rockets from the US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system.
Regarding the developments on land, Lieutenant General Roman Grekov, Deputy Commander in charge of political and military work of the Eastern Military District, told TASS news agency that the Eastern Operations Group is in an active offensive phase in the Zaporizhia direction.
Also according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian army lost about 1,375 soldiers throughout the special military operation area in the past 24 hours. The Northern Combat Group has more than 245 soldiers, the Western Group more than 190, the Southern Group up to 205, the Central Group up to 370, the Eastern Group up to 325 and the Dnepr Group up to 40 soldiers.
