On August 3, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Mr. Denis Pushilin, said that the Russian army continued to land in the Dnipro area after consolidating control in the Velikaya Nouvosetka area, Donetsk.
"For the Velikaya Novoselka area, our units are improving their position. They have been going deep into Dnipro," Pushilin said in a video posted on his Telegram channel.
Notably, the information was released not long after the Russian Defense Ministry announced on July 31 that Russian forces had taken control of Chasov Yar - an important Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region, Donbass - after months of fierce fighting.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the Russian landfall in Chasov Yar has caused the largest loss of personnel to the Ukrainian army since the conflict broke out in 2022. "It was a real killing of thousands of enemy soldiers," the source said.
Meanwhile, advisor to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic - Mr. Igor Kimakovsky - said that the collapse of Chasov Yar would lead to the collapse of Ukraine's defense system in the areas of Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka and Slaviansk.
Up to now, the Kiev government has not responded to a series of reports about the Russian army's victory in Donetsk or the start of the influx into Dnipro.
However, a Ukrainian media channel confirmed that Chasov Yar stronghold in Donetsk is under almost complete control of Russia.
