According to the Spokesperson, after hearing information about the earthquake as well as the Tsunami warnings of local authorities in other countries, Vietnamese representative agencies in Russia, Japan and the US have proactively contacted units of the Vietnamese community to review the situation of citizens, advise citizens to move immediately to safe areas and regularly monitor news, comply with recommendations and safety measures of local authorities.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam's diplomatic missions in other countries are continuing to maintain emergency response mechanisms until the Tsunami warning is no longer in place. Monitor information and safety measures deployed by local authorities related to sunny weather. Maintain contact with Vietnamese community units in other countries to promptly issue recommendations for citizens to prevent and support citizens in emergency situations and in necessary cases.
Also at the press conference, informing about the work of protecting citizens with the 24-year-old Vietnamese internship student arrested in Japan on charges of robbery and murder, Ms. Pham Thu Hang shared: "This is very sad information. We would like to express our deepest condolences to the victim's family."
According to information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan, Japanese police arrested a Vietnamese citizen for robbery, murder and illegal entry on July 27 in Imari city, Saga prefecture, Japan.
"Immediately after receiving this information, Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan contacted local authorities to verify the information and promptly take measures to protect citizens in accordance with Vietnamese law as well as Japanese law. The Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka sent a letter of condolences to the Governor of Saga province and a letter of condolences to the victim's family" - Ms. Pham Thu Hang shared.
Also according to Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan will continue to closely coordinate with Japanese authorities to investigate and handle in accordance with the provisions of law.
