According to TASS news agency on September 8, the Russian government has added anti-aircraft unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the list of weapons and specialized equipment provided to postal workers.
The equipment list for postal workers previously included 9mm pistols, of which this type of weapon is provided to people performing cash transportation tasks. The list also includes rubber bullet guns, stun guns, bulletproof vests and other protective equipment.
According to the new document, the list is expanded with specialized equipment to deal with UAVs as well as vehicles and unmanned systems operating in the air, underwater and on the water.
This addition is part of the system of regulations on equipping weapons and specialized equipment for postal workers. According to Russian government regulations, weapons are issued according to specific norms prescribed by authorities.
The document also stipulates that the issuance of weapons does not apply the same to all postal workers. The type of weapons and equipment equipped depends on the specific tasks each person undertakes.
The tasks mentioned include guarding the post office, escorting cash transportation trips and performing some other tasks.
The amount of ammunition for training is also determined based on the employee's duties. This regulation aims to ensure that the person granted the weapon has sufficient conditions to practice and improve their skills for use according to work requirements.
