Citing a statement from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), AFP said that North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui and the working delegation left Pyongyang for Russia on July 18 (local time).
Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry also announced the official visit of the North Korean diplomat.
The two countries signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, including provisions on defense cooperation, during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang in 2024.
In April, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and many senior officials came to Pyongyang to discuss strengthening military cooperation. Mr. Belousov said that Russia is ready to sign a cooperation plan for the period 2027-2031.
