Inshaf Ahamad is a businessman and comes from the middle class. According to Inshaf's brother-in-law, he is the owner of a copper factory in Wellampitiya, a northeastern suburb of the capital Colombo.
This is also the place where jackets used to hit death bombs with the highly destructive Tricetone triperoxide explosive.
It is known that after having materials to make bombs, Inshaf told his wife that he would go to Zambia to work. Inshaf's wife took him to the airport on April 19 to catch the flight at 6:50 p.m.
Inshaf's copper factory was raided by police on the evening of April 22. Nine people were arrested, including a manager, supervisor and a technician.
Investigators believe Inshaf has foreign terrorist backing because he has a lot of money.
