US President Donald Trump on May 30 (local time) publicly called for the cancellation of the concert scheduled to take place in a series of activities to celebrate the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day, saying that the program is not attractive and should be replaced by a rally conveying the message "Make America Great Again" (MAGA).
In a post on the social network Truth Social on May 30, Mr. Trump said that the United States should organize a large-scale MAGA instead of spending money on artists with high cat-xe but who, according to him, do not attract audiences. The US leader commented that the music at the program was too boring and said that the event should be cancelled.
The controversial concert is part of a series of activities organized by Freedom 250. This is a group established by the White House to coordinate programs celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The music event is considered an important content in the Great American State Fair, a program lasting from June 25 to July 10 at National Mall.
However, the organization plan encountered difficulties immediately after the list of participating artists was announced.
According to information provided, 5 out of 9 guest artists have announced their withdrawal from the program. Some people believe that the event has been politicized and no longer has the nature of a simple celebration.
