In the context that Middle East tensions have not cooled down, especially negotiation efforts between the US and Iran are still deadlocked, President Donald Trump has made noteworthy statements about the US's energy position.
On Truth Social, Mr. Trump said "a large number of completely empty oil tankers, including the world's largest, are on their way to the US to fill up with the best,'sweet' oil and gas.
The US leader affirmed: Washington currently possesses oil reserves larger than both leading oil economies, Russia and Saudi Arabia, combined, while emphasizing that the quality of US oil is superior.
According to Mr. Trump's statement, the fact that a series of empty oil tankers are moving towards the US shows that the global energy market may be preparing for a significant supply shift.

Mr. Trump even declared that the US is clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz "as a support for countries around the world".
The statement that the US possesses more oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined was made right at the time when negotiations on April 11 between the US and Iran in Pakistan failed.
Vice President J.D. Vance said that the 21-hour peace talks in Pakistan between the US and Iran did not reach an agreement to end the war, the biggest obstacle being the nuclear issue when Iran did not provide the necessary guarantees.
The Iranian side has chosen not to accept our terms" - Mr. Vance said at a brief press conference in Islamabad, while leaving open the possibility that the terms could still be agreed upon.
Although no agreement was reached, the US side still maintained a tough stance on strategic limits. Mr. Vance admitted: "The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement", but said that this is "bad news for Iran more than for the US".
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said on social media that the discussions in Pakistan "referred to many aspects of the main negotiating topics, including the Hormuz Strait, nuclear issues, war reparations, lifting sanctions and completely ending the war against Iran and in the region".
Mr. Baqaei, a member of the Iranian delegation, emphasized that the success of the negotiations depends on the US "recognizing Iran's legitimate rights and interests".
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said that reaching an agreement with Iran is not important to him. "We won anyway" - he said. "We defeated them militarily.
Previously, on April 7, the US and Iran reached a temporary ceasefire agreement lasting at least 2 weeks. However, with the negotiation failure, the question of what will happen after the current 2-week ceasefire remains open.
