Regarding the case of Vietnamese people killed in Bangkok , Thailand, at the press conference held on the evening of July 16, Lieutenant General Thiti Saengsawang - Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police - said that the preliminary investigation process initially confirmed the allegations. The victim did not commit suicide but was murdered.
Lieutenant General Thiti emphasized: "Initially, the investigation team did not detect any signs of fighting, and the victims had no external injuries. The objects are still normal, there are no broken dishes."
According to Mr. Thiti, only one victim had wounds on his face. However, this injury could have been caused by the person falling and hitting a hard object and this was not the main cause of death.
The investigation agency is focusing on examining the victims' bodies to clarify the cause of death; At the same time, the investigation hypothesizes about the 7th person who initially checked into the hotel room with the victims.
Thai police determined that two of the six people killed were Chong Sherine, 56 years old, and Dang Hung Van, 55 years old, both of whom were American citizens. The remaining 4 victims are Vietnamese nationals, including Thi Phuong Lan Nguyen, 47 years old; Hong Thanh Pham, 49 years old; Dinh Phu Tran, 37 years old and Thi Phuong Nguyen, 46 years old.
In addition, the investigation agency is collecting security camera excerpts from when the victims got off the plane, as well as in areas near the hotel to clarify the incident.
Matichon online newspaper reported that authorities checked security cameras at the entrance of the Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel in Bangkok, Thailand and recorded 6 victims dragging suitcases into the hotel room.
Images recorded on the afternoon of July 15 showed that a total of 6 people checked into the hotel at the same time and all went to room 502. On the evening of July 16, 6 victims were found dead in the hotel.
