Regarding the death of Vietnamese people in Bangkok, Thailand, at a press conference held on the evening of July 16, Lieutenant General Thiti Saengsawang - Commander of the Bangkok Capital Police - said that the initial preliminary investigation confirmed that the victims did not commit suicide but were murdered.
Lieutenant General Thiti emphasized: At first, the investigation team did not detect any signs of fighting, the victims had no external injuries. The items are still normal, no bowls are broken".
According to Mr. Thiti, only one victim had injuries on his face. However, this injury may have been due to this person falling and hitting a hard object, and this was not the main cause of death.
The investigation agency is focusing on examining the victims' bodies to clarify the cause of death; at the same time, the possibility of investigating the 7th person who initially registered for the hotel room with the victims.
Thai police identified two of the six dead as Chong Sherine, 56, and Dang Hung Van, 55, both of whom were US citizens. The remaining 4 victims were Vietnamese, including Thi Phuong Lan Nguyen, 47 years old; Hong Thanh Pham, 49 years old; Dinh Phu Tran, 37 years old and Thi Phuong Nguyen, 46 years old.
In addition, the investigation agency is collecting security camera footage from the victims' landing on the plane, as well as in areas near the hotel to clarify the incident.
Matichon online reported that the authorities checked security cameras in front of the entrance to Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel in Bangkok, Thailand and recorded 6 victims dragging into the hotel room.
Images recorded on the afternoon of July 15 showed a total of 6 people coming to receive a hotel room at the same time and all went to room 502. By the evening of July 16, 6 victims were found dead in the hotel.
