President Donald Trump will appear on stage at the World Cup finals draw on December 5 (local time), at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, where he is expected to receive the first FIFA peace prize, according to the draft program script collected by the British media.
During the ceremony, Mr. Trump, President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney are expected to participate in the draw ceremony.
The program is expected to last 2 hours, opening with a performance by Opera artist Andrea Bocelli - who performed at an event at the Ballroom, attended by Mr. Trump in October - before moving on to FIFA President Gianni Infantino's speech.
infantino will then introduce President Trump as the winner of the peace award at the event, and Trump will give a speech when receiving the award. After the appearance of the leaders, the program will move to the official draw ceremony, hosted by the host and assistants.
The national teams will be drawn from groups to form 12 groups, each group consisting of 4 teams, for the 2026 World Cup. The ceremony will end with a performance by Village People - a disco group with the song YMCA, which is familiar at Mr. Trump's election campaigns and inaugurations.
Previously, in early November, the world football regulatory agency said that the FIFA Peace Prize was an award given to the person that FIFA said had "made special and extraordinary actions for peace, thereby connecting people around the world".
FIFA said the award will be awarded annually and the World Cup draw in Washington on December 5 will be the first, emphasizing that the award will be awarded on behalf of more than 5 billion global football fans.
However, information about the event has only been communicated through internal documents, and FIFA has not yet officially announced the identity of the award winner. Speculation surrounding Mr Trump's choice stems from his close relationship with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The two sides have appeared together many times at international events, and Mr. Infantino has publicly supported Mr. Trump in his efforts to compete for the Nobel Peace Prize, even affirming on Instagram that the US President " worthy" of being honored.
Not stopping there, the moment FIFA announced the award coincided with Mr. Trump expressing his desire to be recognized for "contributing to peace" at a forum in the US, further increasing speculation.
For his part, when asked about Mr. Trump's ability to win the FIFA Peace Prize at the event on December 5, Mr. Infantino just smiled and said: "You'll see".
