On the same day, March 29, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that no Chinese citizen was killed in the strong earthquake that occurred in Myanmar. A rescue and medical team of 73 Chinese members has arrived in Myanmar to support the search and rescue.
According to CCTV, the Chinese group was the first international rescue group to arrive in Myanmar on the morning of March 29. The relief team arrived in Yangon. The team was equipped with 112 fully equipped life probes, early earthquake warning systems, mobile satellites, drones and other emergency relief supplies.
The United Nations Children's Fund said that relief groups in the field are preparing to provide humanitarian assistance after a strong earthquake of 7.7 on the Richter scale hit Myanmar and shook neighboring Thailand.
