Iran sets 7 conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz

On September 12 (local time), Iran, through intermediaries, transferred to the US a list of 7 conditions that the US must meet to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, according to TASS, citing Tasnim news agency.

The source said that the Strait of Hormuz will continue to be closed until all 7 conditions are approved and met by Iran's senior agencies. The source emphasized that the agreement between Iran and Oman does not mean that the Strait of Hormuz has been reopened.

According to sources, the clearing of the strait completely depends on the actions of the United States. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic maritime route between Iran and Oman, playing the role of a gateway for transporting oil from the Gulf region to the international market.

Kiev has not seen new ideas from the US

On September 12, Mr. Kirill Budanov, Chief of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Mr. Jared Kushner did not bring completely new ideas to Kiev during their recent visit.

Answering the media, Mr. Budanov said that "new breakthrough ideas" have not yet appeared, but proposals are being updated and the two sides continue to find new approaches to old issues.

However, Mr. Budanov said that the negotiation process has been pushed back.

Mr. Witkoff and Mr. Kushner arrived in Moscow on September 5 and were received by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The next day, the two US officials met with Ukrainian President Zelensky in Kiev.

Iraq opens joint investigation with Iran on UAVs

In Iraq, Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces Ali al-Zaidi has accepted Iran's request for a joint investigation to identify UAV launch sites near the border between the two countries, according to Xinhua.

This move comes after Iraqi officials confirmed that recent UAV attacks targeting Saudi Arabia were carried out from a location in Maysan province in southern Iraq.

Previously, Mr. al-Zaidi dismissed the Commander of the Maysan Campaign and the Commander of the Maysan Police, and established a special investigation council.

Iraqi security forces also reorganized a number of administrative and security activities at border gates, including border gates that had to be temporarily closed to investigate security violations.

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said that the oil pipeline connecting oil fields in the east of the country with Yanbu port on the Red Sea coast was attacked by many UAVs originating from Iraq, causing casualties and damage. Riyadh said it has not yet responded to the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister.
