Mr. Putin affirmed that Russia wants to end the Ukraine conflict, Iran declares it is attacking US bases in Jordan and the EU continues to support Kiev... are noteworthy international news.

Russia wants to end the Ukraine conflict

On September 1 (local time), according to TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow wants to end the conflict and move towards long-term peace in Ukraine and Europe.

The above statement was made in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, when Mr. Putin was asked about the proposal to "freeze" the conflict made by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in July. The Russian leader said that Moscow also wants to end the fighting, but not just stop at temporarily stopping the conflict.

The Russian President also affirmed that the country is ready to participate in the negotiation process with all parties wishing for dialogue.

When asked whether facilities in the UK producing weapons for the Ukrainian army could become targets of the Russian army, Putin called it a "military secret".

Iran declares attack on US base in Jordan

On the same day, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had used ballistic missiles to attack a US Marine base in Jordan, called Camp Tithin.

According to IRGC statements, the attack was in response to US attacks on Iran. This force affirmed that many US soldiers were "withdrawn from combat", and some facilities and attack helicopters at the base were destroyed.

However, statements of casualties and the extent of damage have not been independently verified. These developments take place in the context of the US continuing to conduct attacks targeting military targets in Iran, increasing the risk of widespread conflict in the region.

Previously, Jordan said that some missiles had been intercepted by the air defense system.

EU continues to increase support for Ukraine

At the informal meeting of the European Union (EU) defense ministers in Wicklow, Ireland, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy - Ms. Kaja Kallas - affirmed that the bloc will continue to increase support for Ukraine, while promoting Europe's own defense capabilities.

According to Xinhua, the EU has disbursed 8.37 billion euros (about 9.7 billion USD) in defense aid to Ukraine through a loan to support Ukraine and is expected to continue to provide more resources to Kiev.

Irish Defense Minister Helen McEntee said that Dublin will contribute 10 million euros (about 11.5 million USD) to the EU Military Assistance Mission in Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine). This amount is part of the Ukraine support package worth 125 million euros (about 144.9 million USD) announced by Ireland in July.

At the meeting, the parties focused on discussing support for Ukraine, space security, maritime security and some regional security issues. Ireland currently holds the rotating Presidency of the EU Council.
