On September 12, TASS news agency reported that since the start of the attack on Kursk province on August 6, the Ukrainian armed forces have lost at least 7,000 soldiers, just in the town of Sudzha.
The information was told to TASS by Brigadier general Apty Alaudinov - Deputy Directorate of the Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of the Akhmat special forces unit.
"Since the start of the operation in Kursk province, it is estimated that the enemy has lost about 7,000 troops in the area of our responsibility (Sudzha) alone," he said.
The Ukrainian army launched a major offensive in Russia's Kursk province on August 6. As of September 11, the Russian Ministry of National Defense reported that during the conflict in Kursk, Ukraine had lost more than 12,200 troops, 96 tanks, 42 infantry fighting vehicles, 77 armored personnel carriers, 656 armored fighting vehicles, 401 motor vehicles and 90 artillery pieces.
In addition, the country lost 26 more multiple launch rocket systems, including 7 HIMARS missile launchers and 5 M270 MLRS, 8 surface-to-air missile systems, 2 ammunition transport vehicles, 22 electronic warfare stations and 7 anti-artillery radar stations, 2 air defense radar systems, 8 engineering vehicles, including 2 obstacle clearing vehicles and 1 UR-77 mine clearance vehicle.
Sputnik quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying that the Russian army is pushing the Ukrainian army out of Kursk and will achieve results.
“We can see that Ukraine is intensifying its attacks on civilian targets in Kursk. The Ukrainian army is being pushed out and will be wiped out, that is for sure,” Lavrov said during a roundtable meeting with heads of diplomatic missions in Moscow on the situation around Ukraine.
