On September 11, according to Xinhua, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri declared that the framework agreement brokered by the US between Lebanon and Israel had broken down, and warned that Israel could seize more Lebanese territory if it wanted to.
Answering the press, Mr. Berri said that the current situation is "very dangerous" and the parties are still far from a solution. According to him, if Israel decides to occupy more Lebanese territory, it is likely to do so.

Mr. Berri also did not expect a breakthrough in the coming days. The President of the Lebanese Parliament cited the ongoing violence, including child deaths, along with reclamation and demolition activities.
The above statements were made in the context of prolonged tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border, despite the framework agreement signed by the two sides at the end of June.
The agreement brokered by the US was once seen as a basis for the parties to reduce tensions and find solutions to disagreements between Lebanon and Israel. However, according to Mr. Berri, the current situation shows that this process has fallen into a deadlock.
Notably, Mr. Berri's warning was issued as Israel continues military operations in the border area. Israel said its operations are aimed at eliminating the threat from Hezbollah, a largely influential armed force in Lebanon.
The framework agreement being declared to be broken may increase pressure on the security situation in the Lebanese-Israeli border area. In his latest statement, Mr. Berri said that the prospect of achieving a solution in the coming days is still very limited.
