Ukraine no longer has its own resources to continue the conflict, and that is the reason behind recent leadership personnel changes, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS.
The senior Russian diplomat was asked to state his views on the internal political crisis in Ukraine and recent personnel changes, especially the appointment of new Commander-in-Chief Mikhail Drapaty, as well as the impact of all of these on the developments of the conflict.
The recent leadership personnel changes clearly stem from the desire of the head of the Kiev government to maintain power and control over finances from the West. Ukraine no longer has its own resources to continue the conflict for a long time," he noted.
Also according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, the current displacement of officials in Kiev will not affect the internal situation of Ukraine as well as the developments of the conflict. Russia will continue its special military operation until all the set goals and tasks are achieved.
On July 14, Mr. Mikhail Fyodorov was dismissed from his position as Minister of Defense of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Zelensky explained this by the conflict between Mr. Fyodorov and the then Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine, Mr. Alexander Syrsky.
On July 16, large-scale protests broke out across Ukraine, demanding the restoration of Mr. Fyodorov's position and the dismissal of Mr. Syrsky. Mr. Zelensky agreed to the second request on the 6th day of the protests, and on July 22, Mr. Mikhail Drapaty was appointed as the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army. However, protesters continued to demand the restoration of Mr. Fyodorov's position.
