On the afternoon of September 25, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said that Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Federal Republic of Germany since September 23.
The working trip took place in the context of the good development of relations between Vietnam and these two partners, going into depth and becoming more and more substantial.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in the Middle East. In 2024, bilateral trade turnover will reach 6.5 billion USD, reflecting the effective cohesion in bilateral cooperation.
During the visit, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh plans to work with the Minister of Finance and leaders of many key ministries and branches of the UAE, and meet with the business community to expand cooperation opportunities in investment, trade and finance.
For Germany, a country considered an economic driver of the European Union, Vietnam has identified it as one of the leading important trade partners in the European region.
In the first six months of 2025, two-way trade turnover reached 6.65 billion USD, up 18% over the same period. Germany currently has 490 investment projects in Vietnam with a total capital of 2.83 billion USD, while Vietnam has 43 projects in Germany with a total capital of more than 250 million USD.
During the working trip, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh is expected to meet with Vice Chairman of the German parliament, Minister of Energy, and meet with businesses in Frankfurt, and have a meeting with Vietnamese intellectuals and the community in Germany.
These activities are considered an important milestone in strengthening political relations, promoting cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, innovation and people-to-people exchanges.
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the working trip of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh demonstrates Vietnam's determination to strengthen cooperation with important partners in the Middle East and Europe, while contributing to deepening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation, creating favorable conditions for businesses of both sides to maximize development potential.
