China sends more relief goods, sends DNA experts to Nepal

Chinese DNA testing experts have arrived in Nepal to assist in identifying victims after severe flash floods and landslides.

According to Xinhua news agency, a shipment of aid and Chinese DNA testing experts arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal by air on September 1 (local time), to support the country in overcoming the consequences of the devastating flash flood that occurred in the Nepal - China border area on August 26.

The relief package is prepared based on actual needs in Nepal, including many essential equipment such as drones, equipment and supplies for DNA testing, water filtration systems and lighting equipment.

Previously, China delivered the first aid shipment to Nepal on August 30.

On the same flight were 5 DNA testing experts, belonging to China's 3rd relief team. Immediately after arriving, the experts moved to disaster-affected areas to support the Nepalese government in relief work.

Nepalese authorities said that as of September 1, the death toll in the flash flood has increased to 1,068 people, while 4,606 people are still missing.
