Bloomberg's latest Nord Stream news says that the extremely right-wing leader elected in the Dutch election Geert Wilders said he had discussed the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022 and the Ukrainian refugees who stayed in the Netherlands for a long time during his first face-to-face meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky on September 7.
Mr. Wilders revealed that the sides "discussed the corruption situation in Ukraine, peace opportunities and conditions for peace, the issue of Nord Stream and the Ukrainian men staying in the Netherlands instead of helping Ukraine".
President Zelensky added that he will meet the Dutch leader-elect at the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, Italy.
Last month, Polish authorities said that a Ukrainian citizen suspected by German authorities of being involved in the Nord Stream sabotage had fled Poland after Germany issued an arrest warrant for all of Europe.
Mr. Wilders' far-right Liberal Party won a surprise election last November and is leading the largest number of ministries in the new Dutch cabinet that was sworn in in July. However, Wilders has been forced to abandon his bid to become Dutch prime minister to build a coalition with three other parties.
Mr. Wilders said that the talks with President Zelensky were "a good conversation". The far-right leader has previously argued that the Netherlands should cut military aid to Ukraine, but has withdrawn this view to convince its partners in the alliance.
In other developments, the latest Nord Stream news from TASS said that Russia has not received any reliable information from Germany about the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
Russian Ambassador to Berlin Sergey Nechayev said that Russia has not received any reliable information responding to the country's requests in the Nord Stream case. "We have not yet received any convincing documents, let alone explanations," he shared.
The Russian diplomat added that "a terrorist attack has hit international energy infrastructure, critical infrastructure" Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2.
Ambassador Nechayev stressed that the Nord Stream gas pipeline is not only related to Russia but also related to many other countries. " And the German side are suffering a big loss. This is not only about construction but also about loss of profit, because all branches of Nord Stream 2 are ready for operation" - the Ambassador emphasized.
The Russian diplomat pointed out that immediately after the sabotage in the Baltic Sea, a branch of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline remained intact. Russia has proposed operating the pipeline to bring Russian gas to Germany and Europe. "But unfortunately, the political will of Europeans and Germans has chosen another path," the Ambassador said.
TASS previously quoted German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit as saying that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz wanted to know the culprit for the Nord Stream explosion and that the topic of the sabotage of the gas pipeline was still on Berlin's agenda during meetings with Kiev.
