Dr. Botz Laszlo believes that the implementation of development orientations set out by the Communist Party of Vietnam has led to the current development of the country.

Before the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Congress XIV), Mr. Botz Laszlo - Chairman of the Hungarian-Vietnamese Friendship Association - shared about Vietnam's strong progress and highly appreciated the positive progress in the relationship between the two countries.

Dr. Botz Laszlo, who has held the position of Chairman of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association since 2007, has contributed to spreading the image of Vietnam in Hungary and strengthening bilateral cooperation, by organizing and participating in many forums and diverse exchange activities on culture, education, diplomacy, local exchanges and supporting the Vietnamese community in Hungary.

In early 2025, he was awarded the Friendship Order by the State of Vietnam, a noble award for foreigners who have made special contributions to Vietnamese and foreign relations.

Optimistic about Vietnam's strong progress

According to Mr. Botz Laszlo, Vietnam's socio-economic development is truly overwhelming; the path the country has taken in recent years is unprecedented. A comprehensive renovation and modernization of infrastructure is taking place. Not only in urban planning or transportation, but in all areas of life, we can clearly feel that.

Dr. Botz Laszlo said that what he especially values is that generations of country leaders always implement balanced development policies. Not only cities, key tourist areas or major traffic axes are invested at breakneck speed, but rural areas have also made significant progress. Clear achievements in education and health are felt throughout the country.

All of these things have fundamentally changed and improved people's living standards.

He also said that not only himself but all members of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association deeply admire the achievements that Vietnam has achieved.

Dr. Botz Laszlo believes that, over the past 50 years, the leaders of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have always found the most suitable path for the country. The steadfast implementation of the development orientations set out by the Communist Party of Vietnam has led to today's development, enhancing the country's international position, while preserving and consolidating the independence that President Ho Chi Minh always dreamed of.

The Chairman of the Hungarian-Vietnamese Friendship Association believes that the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the wisdom of previous congresses, will assess the past journey, analyze the volatile world political situation today, draw correct conclusions, thereby identifying medium and long-term goals and tasks, as well as selecting the most suitable leaders to implement those goals.

From these things, he expects Vietnam to continue to make strong progress in socio-economics.

He said that Vietnam possesses great economic potential in the tourism sector. This industry is developing strongly worldwide and making significant contributions to the national budget. Vietnam is on the right track and in the future, tourism infrastructure development will still be prioritized.

Investment in education and research - development is extremely important. In terms of knowledge and scientific and technical capacity, Vietnam has huge resources; this field certainly needs to continue to be a top priority.

From these things, he believes that Vietnam will continue to be among the fastest growing countries in the world in the future.

Great opportunity in Vietnam-Hungary cooperation relations

The past 75 years have marked long strides in the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Hungary, a relationship that was once nurtured and strengthened even in the arduous and fierce moments of the Vietnamese nation.

According to the Chairman of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association, in the current context, the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement signed from 2018 is an important starting point.

At the meetings of the Joint Economic Committee, areas of mutual concern are always clearly identified, creating a promising framework for the dynamic development of bilateral relations. This has been shown by specific results in annual trade turnover.

Hungary possesses excellent technologies that can be effectively applied in Vietnam in solving clean water and wastewater treatment problems. Cooperation in the fields of health, research and development of pharmaceuticals is also very potential.

In particular, Hungary's scholarship policy in recent years has prioritized and strongly supported Vietnamese students to study at the university and postgraduate levels in Hungary (Each year Hungary receives about 200 Vietnamese students to study abroad).

Great opportunities in scientific and technological cooperation and research; expected to have rapid and effective progress, bringing benefits to both countries.

Regarding the role of the Vietnamese community in Hungary, he emphasized that this is a significant community, playing an extremely positive role in the residential areas where they live; it has been and is building the trust of the Hungarian people; their willingness to help, ability to integrate and hard work are highly appreciated by Hungarian society. The community will grow stronger and become a driving force to promote the relationship between the two countries to become increasingly close.

He also affirmed that the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to make every effort to promote the development of relations between the two countries and two peoples; maintain very close relations with the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, the Vietnamese Association in Hungary and the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association in Vietnam, joining hands to build and develop friendly relations.
