"ABC News will organize debates for qualified presidential candidates on September 10 on ABC. Vice President Harris and former President Trump have both confirmed that they will attend the debate on ABC" - this television channel states in a press release.
Speaking at a press conference at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, President Trump expressed his expectation for a debate with the Vice President of the United States and agreed on the upcoming debate dates with Fox News, ABC, and NBC.
"I think organizing debates is very important and we have agreed with Fox on September 4. We have agreed with NBC. The agreement is quite comprehensive, depending on them on September 10. And we have agreed with ABC on September 25" - the former US President shared.
A senior advisor to President Trump and an ABC source said that the exact dates that President Trump agreed with television channels are: September 4 with Fox News, September 10 with ABC, and September 25 with NBC.
President Trump said that "small details" are still being negotiated, including participants and location.
Vice President Harris had previously agreed to participate in the ABC debate and said she would be happy about the next debate.
"I am glad that he finally agreed to participate in the debate on September 10. I am looking forward to the debate and hope he will appear" - Vice President Harris shared before boarding Air Force Two in Detroit after an event with the United Auto Workers.
When asked if she would be open to other debates that President Trump mentioned, Vice President Harris shared: "I am happy to discuss an additional debate after September 10".
The debate organized by ABC initially was accepted by President Trump and President Joe Biden before President Biden withdrew from the US Presidential Election 2024. Earlier this week, President Trump said that he would not debate Vice President Harris if she did not agree to attend the Fox News debate on September 4.
