RT reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video recording the scene of a Lancet UAV destroying a Ukrainian tank hiding in a forest near the border in Russia's Kursk region.
Kiev sent thousands of soldiers and many vehicles across the border into Kursk province on August 6 in order to disperse Russian reserve troops. Moscow responded by hunting for those who entered and attacked Donbass.
The 10-second clip released on August 24 shows Lancet UAV patrol bullets attacking a tank parked under the canopy in an area of forested land, causing the armored vehicle to smoke and burn down.
In a notice posted on the official Telegram channel, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that units of the Russian Northern Forces had discovered Ukrainian tanks during intelligence operations. After analyzing the data, the military targeted enemy tanks.
The Ministry said: "The Lancet UAV patrol team shot down a tank operated by the Ukrainian armed forces with a direct attack, which was confirmed by a film of objective monitoring collected in real time."
The Lancet is a patrol missile developed by a subsidiary of Kalashnikov Concern. It was first introduced at the 2019 Military Exhibition in Moscow and was first used in Syria the following year.
Russia has increased the production of drones on a large scale in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, deploying them on the battlefield to attack Kiev's armored vehicles and vehicles.
Russian airstrikes and missiles have targeted Ukrainian troops both inside the neighboring Kursk region and Sumy region of Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said Russian forces have carried out 16 strikes using precision weapons and drones on military airports, ammunition, missile/artillery depots and NASAMS surface-to-air missile system storage facilities in Ukraine over the past week.
"From August 17 to 23, the Russian armed forces have carried out 16 coordinated attacks using precision weapons and drones on airport infrastructure, ammunition, missile and artillery depots, Ukrainian weapons and military equipment repair workshops as well as the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system depot," TASS quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying.
According to the latest data on special military activities in Ukraine released by the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian army has lost about 16,155 soldiers in battles with Russian forces in all frontline areas over the past week.
