On September 5 in Hanoi, the head of the Vietnamese sports delegation - Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - exchanged with the media about the preparations of the members before coming to Japan to attend ASIAD 20.
In which, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed that the goal set to win 4 to 6 gold medals at ASIAD 20 was carefully calculated.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh said: "The important focus of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has several key points in the competing athletes' force.
This year's force is allocated according to a 3-key group model.
the first group are experienced athletes, with the highest ability to compete for medals; the second group are potential factors approaching the top group, ready to create breakthroughs; and the rest are promising young talents.
This personnel structure ensures continuous succession, both aiming for immediate professional goals and building a long-term launching pad for the future.
The Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation added: "The target we set to strive to win 4 or more gold medals at this Games in Japan is built on the reality of the force, without emotional imposition.
The goal will reflect 2 factors. The first is the accumulation of key contents; strong sports such as shooting, sepak takraw, karate have had an additional training and international rubbing cycle to shape the framework for athletes to enter the ripe stage of form.
The second is focused investment. Not spreading out, the industry has proactively focused maximum resources on contents that are potentially directly disputed in order to optimize the opportunity for success.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh believes that the target of winning 4 to 6 gold medals at ASIAD 20 is not simply achievement pressure, but seen as a measure of progress and efforts to overcome the limits of Vietnamese Sports.
The whole team will approach each competition content with a spirit of respecting opponents but being confident in the methodical preparation process," said Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh.
Preparing for ASIAD 20, Vietnamese Sports has had a more focused way than before.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh said that the Vietnamese Sports sector has established a specialized investment regime on funding, nutrition and foreign experts for key players.
Before participating in ASIAD 20, many national sports teams were trained for many days in countries with modern facilities suitable for achievement development such as France, Japan, South Korea, China...
ASIAD 20 will officially take place from September 19 to October 4.
The Vietnamese sports delegation will go to Japan with 498 members, participating in 33 sports and sub-sports of the Games.
