On the morning of August 13, in Da Nang, the Karate Tournament of the 10th Da Nang City Sports Festival 2026 officially opened.
This tournament is the 20th competition within the framework of the congress, gathering 176 martial artists from 27 communes and wards including: Tay Giang, An Khe, Que Son Trung, Ba Na, Thanh Khe, Huong Tra, Son Tra, Cam Le, Vu Gia, Lanh Ngoc, Tam Ky, Tra Lien, Hoa Tien, Thang An, Hoa Cuong, Dien Ban Dong, Nam Phuoc, Hoa Vang, An Hai, Hoa Khanh, Quang Phu, Ban Thach, Tien Phuoc, Nui Thanh, Ngu Hanh Son, Duc Phu and Hai Chau.
The tournament is of particular importance to promote the Karate training movement in the city to develop more and more; creating conditions for athlete delegations to compete, exchange experiences, and improve professional qualifications.
Athletes will enter the competition in two events: kata (Kata) and combat (Kumite) to compete for 23 sets of medals.
In the boxing performance event, the organizers put into competition 5 sets of medals (including 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 10 bronze medals) in the individual and team events for men and women. For the sparring event, the martial artists competed for 18 sets of medals (including 18 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 36 bronze medals) for the individual and team events for men and women.
The tournament takes place from August 13 to August 15 and is scheduled to close at 11:00 AM on August 15.
The organizing committee will award gold, silver, and bronze medals along with certificates and bonuses to individuals who achieve first, second, and third place in each competition category, and award flags and bonuses for first, second, and third place overall to units that achieved excellent results at this year's tournament.
