More than 18,000 athletes, including nearly 1,300 international athletes from 55 countries, will participate in the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2024 on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
The number of athletes participating increased by 150% compared to last season and is a record in Vietnam marathons up to this point.
The Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi running routes are designed to comply with the standards of the world's leading running races. All routes of 4 distances (5km-10km-21km-42km) are standardized and certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
Athletes participating in the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi can use their results to register for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age-Based World Championship - the organization that owns the system of 6 most prestigious marathons on the planet (Six Majors), including New York Marathon, Chicago Marathon, London Marathon, Boston Marathon, Tokyo Marathon and Berlin Marathon.
Starting from Thien Quang Lake area, athletes will run through the mossy, ancient corners of Hanoi, through the roads along West Lake, considered one of the most beautiful check-in spots in the capital, to the roads representing a dynamic Hanoi.
In particular, the FM route will visit 4 famous lakes of the capital: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Truc Bach Lake and Thien Quang Lake, as well as historical sites... The running route is also calculated in detail to ensure safety and security factors but still maintain the attractiveness when running through the heritages of the capital.

Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2024 is the first race in Vietnam to be supported by Bach Mai Hospital Hanoi, with more than 1,000 doctors and medical staff responsible for organizing, providing quick and effective first aid, prioritizing the safety of athletes.
With the spirit of "Breakthrough and Reaching Far", Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2024 is not only a sports and cultural event, but also spreads sustainable values and connects the community.
The opening ceremony of the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2024 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1 at Thong Nhat Park. This will be a unique meeting between music and sports, to promote the spirit of competition at the highest level, for the strength and endurance to connect and spread to the community that marathon brings.
Many meaningful community activities will be held within the framework of the 2024 season. The “CEO Run” initiative was first launched exclusively for CEOs of domestic and foreign enterprises. The participating CEOs all committed to supporting charity and all proceeds will be donated by the Organizing Committee to the localities and people affected by the recent Typhoon Yagi.
The charity initiative was born and implemented right on the spot, collecting old shoes to give back to the poor in remote areas across the country. This initiative aims to encourage sharing in the community, encourage reuse and reduce waste.
Each individual who donates shoes will also receive a 200,000 VND discount voucher when purchasing new shoes from the Xtep brand.
