On February 4, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman cum General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of National Defense to 2 players of The Cong - Viettel Club, Khuat Van Khang and Nguyen Cong Phuong.
Khuat Van Khang and Nguyen Cong Phuong were praised and rewarded for "having achieved excellent results, winning bronze medals in participating in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship".
Players Khuat Van Khang and Nguyen Cong Phuong also received awards from Viettel Group for their achievements in the recent tournament. 2025 is a year that marks many imprints of 2 young players of The Cong - Viettel Club.
To date, Khuat Van Khang has won 4 Southeast Asian championships, from U15, U23 to National Team; 1 SEA Games Gold Medal; 3 times with U23 Vietnam to go deep in the AFC U23 Championship finals. Van Khang is also the first and only player of Vietnamese football to participate in 3 consecutive AFC U23 Championships.
Cong Phuong was the player who scored the only goal in the match against U23 Indonesia, bringing victory to help U23 Vietnam win the U23 Southeast Asian Championship for the 3rd consecutive time.
The contributions of the 2 players at the recent AFC U23 Championship have affirmed the quality of youth football training and nurturing Vietnamese football talent of The Cong - Viettel club.
