On the afternoon of September 24, in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan, the Press Conference of the 76th World Individual 3-Cushion Billiards Championship 2024 took place.
This is the first time the world's highest level tournament in 3-Cushion Carom has been held in Vietnam. The tournament attracted 48 top athletes from countries around the world. Of which, Vietnam has 7 players participating in the tournament.
The mascot of the tournament is a dragon dragon, sketched from the image of a dragon fruit, with the same color tone as the dragon fruit - a specialty fruit of Binh Thuan. This mascot is sponsored by DKRA Group for the tournament and the Organizing Committee will give it to international delegates, players...
According to Mr. Bui The Nhan - Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, up to now, the organization has been fully prepared, most thoughtful in terms of content. Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province also organizes tours for players, international guests to attractive tourist destinations of Binh Thuan.
Reporters attending the press conference asked about the time allowed to work during the tournament. Mr. Farouk Barki - President of the World Carom Billiards Federation said that reporters were allowed to enter the competition venue to work normally but were not allowed to use flash and were not allowed to livestream.
When asked about the preparation for the tournament, Mr. Barki said that there was nothing to discuss about the preparation for the tournament because it was perfect and very professional. He was confident that the players would have successful and impressive competition days.
Commenting on the tournament mascot, Mr. Barki excitedly said that it was a truly impressive highlight for this year's tournament. In addition, Mr. Barki also informed the press about the sporting event that was recently organized by a private company but was not recognized by the World Billiards Federation and the Vietnam Billiards & Snoocker Federation.
The 76th 2024 World Individual 3-Cushion Billiards Carom Championship will open on the morning of September 25 in Phan Thiet and the closing ceremony will take place on the evening of September 29, right after the final match. This is a tournament within the professional scoring system of the World Billiards Carom Federation (UMB).
In addition to this event, there is also the annual General Assembly of the World Billiards Federation - this is an important event of the World Billiard Caroom Federation held annually. The tournament also contributes to introducing the beauty of Binh Thuan tourism and Binh Thuan people to international friends.
