The 2026 Asian Individual Chess Championship closed in Mongolia on June 6 (local time). The players competed in the final game, game 9, before determining the final result.
The Vietnamese chess team had the best achievement of 8th place in the men's group of player Dau Khuong Duy.
In game 9, Dau Khuong Duy defeated grandmaster David Paravyan to achieve a total of 6.5 points overall. Khuong Duy has had 4 wins and 5 draws in his matches in Mongolia this year.
Also in the men's group, player Pham Tran Gia Phuc has a total of 5.5 points after 9 games, ranking 27th. Player Dinh Nho Kiet has 4.5 points to rank 76th.
In the men's group, the champion is the champion of the Chinese Chess Team, Kong Xiangrui. This player achieved a total of 7 points after 9 games.
For the women's group, two players Luong Phuong Hanh and Nguyen Thanh Thuy Tien were not in the final top 15. Nguyen Thanh Thuy Tien won a total of 4 points to rank 67.
