On May 29 local time, the 2026 Asian Individual Chess Championship opened. This year, chess players competed in standard chess with 9 games according to the Swiss system.
In the first set of the men's group, on his table, Dau Khuong Duy played against chess player Fedosov Alexander. Although focusing on finding a chance to win, Khuong Duy did not achieve the expected result. The set ended in a draw. Khuong Duy's opponent in the 2nd set was chess player Yang Zilong (China).
In the first set, player Dinh Nho Kiet lost to Tin Jingyao (Singapore), but Pham Tran Gia Phuc won against Todmunkh Turbat (Mongolia).
