The Vietnamese disabled sports delegation said goodbye to ASEAN Para Games 13, leaving Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand) today (January 27).
Members were moved back to two locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In which, the main component includes officials, coaches, athletes and Head of Delegation Le Thi Hoang Yen moving back to Vietnam at Noi Bai airport (Hanoi).
Present to welcome the members of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation for People with Disabilities to return home after the competition, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports Nguyen Hong Minh encouraged each member and sent deep words of encouragement to the achieved results.
After more than 1 week of competition, the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation won 38 gold medals, 48 silver medals and 58 bronze medals.
The result exceeded the target set before the competition, which is to strive to win from 30 to 35 gold medals. The Vietnamese disabled sports delegation ranked 5th overall.

ASEAN Para Games 13 was held in Nakhon Ratchasima with 19 official sports and 536 sets of medals.
Through the competition days, Vietnamese coaches and athletes with disabilities achieved medal results in chess, archery, athletics, badminton, swordplay, judo, weightlifting, swimming and table tennis.
In which, chess has the best achievement when achieving 15 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 11 bronze medals.
In the future, disabled athletes will continue to practice to prepare for the 2026 ASIAN Para Games held in Japan.
