In the women's 10m air pistol team event, the trio Nguyen Thuy Trang, Trinh Thu Vinh and Bui Thu Thuy achieved a total score of 1,719 points, ranking 3rd overall.
The gold medal belonged to the Chinese team with 1.735 points, while South Korea won a silver medal with 1.730 points.
Notably, the Vietnamese team has the same total score as India (1. 719 points) but ranks above thanks to having a higher number of shots on the round of points (46x compared to 44x).
Previously, in the qualifying round, Nguyen Thuy Trang achieved 577 points, ranked 5th and won the right to enter the final of the women's 10m air pistol event. Trinh Thu Vinh achieved 574 points, ranked 11th, and Bui Thuy Thu Thuy achieved 568 points, ranked 25th.
This is the 4th bronze medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at ASIAD 20, alongside the bronze medals of Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan - Trinh Gia Nghi (teqball), Bui Ngoc Nhi and Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly (karate).
Previously, three athletes Nguyen Ngoc Tram, Bui Ngoc Nhi and Hoang Thi Thu Uyen won gold medals in the women's team kata karate event, bringing home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at ASIAD 20.
