As of 12:00 on December 17, the Vietnam Sports Delegation still holds the 3rd place on the SEA Games medal rankings with a total of 188 medals, including 53 gold medals, 57 silver medals and 78 bronze medals.
The top spot continues to belong to the Thai Sports Delegation. With 160 gold medals and a large number of silver and bronze medals, the host country is creating a huge gap compared to the groups chasing behind.
Following Thailand is the Indonesian Sports Delegation, showing a strong acceleration when winning 62 gold medals, 73 silver medals and 74 bronze medals, thereby widening the gap with Vietnam in the group stage.
The remaining positions in the leading group belong to Singapore and the Philippines respectively. Followed by Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei and Timor Leste.
