Ambato K'chis Club on August 7 faced Santiago de Pillaro at Neptin Barona Stadium (Ecuador). The match ended in a score of 0-0, which means Santiago de Pillaro finished in 3rd place overall and won a promotion to Serie B.
However, this was what caused the conflict and violence at Neptune Barona. Accordingly, because they were too dissatisfied with the result of the match, some leaders of Ambato K'chis team ran into the stadium to argue with the referee and Mr. Jose Cevallos - president of the Tungurah Provincial Professional Football Association.
While Mr. Jose Cevallos and technical director Carlos Solorzano of Ambato K'chis were arguing, suddenly Mr. Vinicio Ruben Solorzano (brother of Carlos Solorzano) fired a very strong kick that caused Mr. Jose Cevallos to fall upside down.
"Seeing signs of a fight, a few people in the soccer field area stopped the attackers. They were aggressive and deliberately "eliminated" Cevallos with their attacks. The leader was then taken to the hospital by doctors for treatment," Eluniverso wrote.
Through a phone call with the newspaper, Jose Cevallos shared that this was a "dark night" for professional football in Tungurahua. The perpetrator was identified but the authorities released the person because the medical examiner was not present at the investigation session, although everything was fully recorded by the camera.
"I am heartbroken that Tungurahua football is watched by equatorian people, even some places in the world, but there are negative and not very good actions" - Mr. Jose Cevallos added.
Currently, the president of Tungurahua Provincial Football Association still has many injuries on his body when he felt severe pain in the abdomen, chest and neck. The leader said he would quickly file a criminal complaint to resolve the matter.
