Opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen is not on the list of 14 official athletes of LPB Ninh Binh participating in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
According to information from the coaching staff, Bich Tuyen's not being registered to compete is a professional decision, based on the current physical strength of this athlete.
She is in the process of recovering from her injury and is not in the best physical condition to be able to play. Therefore, head coach Thai Thanh Tung decided not to risk using her in the next phase. This is a tournament in which LPB Ninh Binh sets a big goal with the championship, in the context of taking place right at home.
The fact that Bich Tuyen did not compete in the second phase of this year's national championship also extended the list of tournaments that she will be absent from in 2025. Not long before, at the 2025 World Championship with the Vietnamese team, Bich Tuyen also withdrew from the list for personal reasons.
Notably, this is the second time the 2000-born setter has withdrawn from the national team in an international tournament. In April 2023, she was called up to prepare for the AVC Club 2023 tournament, but withdrew before the start date due to a relapse of a back injury.
The consecutive absences have made fans worried about the performance and ability to return of the current No. 1 setter in Vietnam.
Bich Tuyen is an important factor both at the club and the national team, standing out with her strong attacking ability and good scoring efficiency. Her inability to play forced LPB Ninh Binh to recalculate the personnel plan for the upcoming important round.
Currently, LPB Ninh Binh is leading the women's rankings after phase 1. However, the absence of a hitter who can create a breakthrough like Bich Tuyen will certainly leave a gap, especially when entering the fierce competition stage in the final round.
The ancient capital team will have to rely more on foreign players like Miroslava Paskova and the stability of the remaining pillars if they want to compete for the throne.
In addition, this more or less also affects the plan to prepare forces for the 33rd SEA Games. The regional sports festival will take place at the end of 2025, which is one of the important tasks of Vietnamese women's volleyball.
In the context of the team needing to increase their strength to compete for gold medals, Bich Tuyen is always expected to be a reliable attacking player. However, if she does not compete regularly, she will find it difficult to achieve the best performance status, especially in terms of physical strength and feel.
At the same time, not competing also makes it difficult for coaches to evaluate Bich Tuyen's actual performance, thereby affecting her ability to choose the optimal lineup for the SEA Games. In addition to Bich Tuyen, the Vietnamese side is also negotiating with Gunma Green Wings club (Japan) so that Thanh Thuy can return to compete in the SEA Games.
Fans hope that Bich Tuyen will soon return strongly in the national team jersey, especially at the 33rd SEA Games - where she is always expected to be the top attacking explosive.
