On the evening of July 26, at My Dinh Athletics Palace, Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security opened the 9th "For National Security" Sports Festival and the 6th People's Public Security (CAND) Martial Arts and Military Command Competition, phase 2 in 2025.
At the congress, after turning a spark in the opening of the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Public Security - said that the above activity was to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2; the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.
The Deputy Minister of Public Security emphasized that after 80 years of fighting and growing, the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces have always been absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people; always affirming that they are "Stalk; Sharp sword" to protect the Party, the State and the People.
"Through practical combat work, there have been many examples of police officers and soldiers who have devoted their intelligence, bravely fought, sacrificed themselves to protect national security; fought against crime, for peace of life, for the happiness of the people" - Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen said.
In the coming time, each officer and soldier must constantly innovate their thinking, improve the quality and professional capacity; at the same time, strengthen health training, courage, discipline and order to build police officers and soldiers who are physically strong, strong in their mettle, good at their profession, close to the people, close to the people, understanding the people, closely attached to the people, serving the people.
The sports movement and military and martial arts regulation work in the People's Public Security have had strong developments, achieving many important results. Sports activities and martial arts military orders are organized regularly, increasingly in-depth and of high quality, contributing to improving health, courage, will, awareness of organization, discipline, working style, practicing flexible skills to respond to complex situations in practice, meeting task requirements, ensuring security and order.
"That is a clear demonstration of the practical and long-term value and effectiveness of physical exercise and building regular discipline in the entire people's public security force" - Deputy Minister Tuyen emphasized.
The martial arts festival is an annual activity held every 5 years, aiming to commend the forces, demonstrate the strength, bravery, and fighting spirit of officers and soldiers; an opportunity to comprehensively inspect and evaluate the quality of physical education and sports and military martial arts in the entire People's Public Security Forces...
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen informed that this Congress will be held in 2 phases, taking place from August 2024 to August 2025 in 5 localities. In phase 1, there were the participation of more than 15,000 officers and soldiers from 126 police teams of local units competing in 13 sports with 133 events. Up to now, 6/13 events have been completed. In phase 2, the congress has the participation of 70 delegations with more than 2,000 athletes.
At the end of the direction, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen suggested that the organizing committee, the refereeing committee, and the congress management organization be fair, honest, objective... to select truly outstanding and outstanding collectives and individuals in the competitions.
