Mass knife attack at US supermarket, at least 11 people hospitalized

    At least 11 people were hospitalized after a knife stabbing incident at Walmart supermarket in Michigan (USA) on the afternoon of July 26.

    Michigan State Police (MSP) said the Grand Traverse District Police Department is investigating a mass stabbing case at Walmart supermarket in Traverse City, and a suspect has been arrested.

    A nearby Munson Healthcare Hospital confirmed it is treating 11 victims.

    The FBI's agents are providing assistance, according to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino.

    The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office, Traverse City Police Department, Traverse City Fire Department and Michigan State Police have not immediately responded to the press's request for comment.

    Traverse City is a small city in northern Michigan, about 225km northwest of Grand Rapids. The city is located along the shore of Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan.
