Solving the problem step by step
Discussing the direction of Vietnamese volleyball towards having more technological equipment combined with training and improving expertise, Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation once shared: "Currently, sports are constantly developing. In particular, many countries apply technology, apply artificial intelligence (AI) or have professional software to support training.
We also monitor some countries that are investing in volleyball, directly using some data analysis software and technology to improve athletes' fitness. Vietnam Volleyball has discussed and found solutions to this problem".
In fact, the Vietnamese men's and women's volleyball teams have been equipped and used data analysis software through each stage. The coach recorded the data as a professional basis to make adjustments on the field while the players were playing to ensure the results.
Each data analysis software has its own characteristics. In Vietnam, we need the most personnel capable of using such specialized software in volleyball. Vietnamese volleyball records that only a few people are proficient in the above field, Mr. Le Tri Truong added.
Through research, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will develop a plan to gradually resolve the issue of equipping technical equipment for professional service when the national volleyball teams are trained. However, the equipment takes time.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports has begun implementing the program to digitize athlete data. Volleyball is one of the sports that does this.
According to Mr. Le Tri Truong, data is the foundation of all preparation, so when implementing the digitalization of information, it will require the accuracy of each player's index.

Finance plays an important role
Equipping information technology applications to serve professional training will require funding resources. The volleyball data analysis software always updates new features and has to pay for each upgrade.
Regarding this, the management of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation clearly understands the need for investment, but with limited resources, the implementation of equipping additional technology applications to support the coaching staff of the Vietnam Men's and Women's Volleyball teams is limited.
For example, in the professional training program towards the 33rd SEA Games of the Vietnam Men's and Women's Volleyball Teams, each team cannot add more human resources to analyze data, so the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will find more optimal options.
Volleyball is a collective sport, each coach in the coaching staff is able to professionalize his work. When human resources are needed to implement training support technologies (using analysis software), the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will have to determine the funding to pay for people working in this field.
The highest factor to invest in technology, or use professional analysis software or be able to invest in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to volleyball is to aim to best perfect competition results.
However, the collective mon will be different from the individual mon. The investment in technology for each subject is different. We always want Vietnamese volleyball to develop best, Mr. Le Tri Truong added.
July 7 is World Volleyball Day. Many coaches, athletes and the World Volleyball Federation shared their congratulations on the above anniversary.
In particular, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) affirmed that volleyball is a sport that creates the cheering attraction of society in many countries, so the investment budget for volleyball is increasing.
