The 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship will officially kick off in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, with the participation of 32 teams from the continents.
The Thai women's volleyball team, as the host, was placed in the seed group in Group A, in the same group as the Netherlands, Sweden and Egypt.
According to Sanook, international websites have predicted the chances of the teams advancing in Group A. Of which, Thailand has a chance to continue up to 57.21%, only behind the Netherlands with 71.83%. In addition, the remaining two teams, Sweden and Egypt, are rated lower, with the rate of going through the competition being 42.39% and 8.99%, respectively.
The Thai women's volleyball team will have their opening match against Egypt - the weakest opponent in Group A at 8:30 p.m. on August 22 at indoor Stadium Huamark. This is an opportunity for the home team to have a favorable start for the next matches.
Regarding the World Championship, today (8.20), the Vietnam women's volleyball team traveled to Thailand to prepare for the upcoming journey.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in the same group with opponents who are considered very strong: Poland, Germany and Kenya.
According to the format, the teams compete in a round-robin to calculate ranking points. The two teams with the best results in each group will advance to the round of 16.
This is the first time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has participated in this tournament, but the whole team is very determined, competing with all their might and accumulating experience.
