Expected list of 14 Vietnamese women's volleyball players aiming for the 2026 Asian Championship
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has developed a plan to reduce the force of 14 players to prepare for the 2026 Asian Championship to compete in China soon.
According to research, the expected list proposed to be shortened to 14 training players includes: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Pham Quynh Huong - main attacker; Nguyen Thi Tra My - opposite hitter; Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Le Thanh Thuy, Le Nhu Anh, Luu Thi Hue - middle blocker; Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Vi Thi Yen Nhi - setter; Nguyen Khanh Dang, Le Thi Yen - libero.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has trained 28 players in the past time.
After stopping training 5 players, the squad of head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet still has 23 players.
After stage 2 of the SEA V.Cup 2026, the proposed shortlist of 14 players preparing for the 2026 Asian Championship was proposed before an official decision was made.
In the list of 14 players expected to participate in the 2026 Asian Championship, 2 young faces Bui Thi Anh Thao and Pham Quynh Huong are named.

Young players focus on professional training during breaks
Young players of 27 teams (12 men, 15 women) participating in the 2026 National Youth Championship in Ha Tinh are temporarily suspended from competition on August 10 and August 11 to perform national mourning according to regulations.
However, the players are still allowed to participate in professional training during this time to ensure their form before returning to play.
The host unit Ha Tinh arranged training grounds to ensure time frames for each team to practice in accordance with regulations.
The 2026 National Youth Volleyball Tournament will return to competition from August 12.
Currently, the teams are still competing in the group stage matches for the men's and women's categories.
Last year, the Binh Chung Thong Tin women's youth team and the Khanh Hoa men's youth team won the championship of the tournament.
