Thanh Thuy has returned home.
Striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy has returned home after ending her contract with the Kuzeyboru women's volleyball team (Türkiye). A photo of the Binh Duong-born striker at Tan Son Nhat airport has been circulating on social media.
For now, Thanh Thuy's professional program is kept secret, no specific disclosure has been made. It is known that Vietnam's number 1 striker will have time to recover his physical strength to have the best health as well as look for opportunities to compete in high-performance volleyball.
Whether Thanh Thuy will continue to compete professionally in Vietnam or find opportunities to compete abroad will have to wait until the management unit, VTV Binh Dien Long An club, makes an official announcement.
Coach Tran Van Giap is proud of his students.
In the 2024 national championship, Thai Binh and Vietinbank are the two women's teams that successfully stayed in the league. After the final match against Hanoi (afternoon of November 17), coach Tran Van Giap of the Thai Binh women's team shared: "I am very happy and proud of the athletes. To stay in the league and achieve the goals set by the leaders, the whole team has actively prepared in both stages.
Thanks to the attention of leaders, sponsors, and fans, the players have made efforts, united, and successfully stayed in the league. This year, we boldly used many young players in phase 2, especially in the 'reverse final' matches. Although it was their first time playing in pressure matches, they still stood firm, contributing to the team."
Two Hanoi women's teams regret
Hanoi Club is one of two women's teams to be relegated after the 2024 national championship, along with Quang Ninh team. Setter Vi Thi Yen Nhi expressed: "I am very happy to have played with the club with dedication. My teammates and I had matches that were not up to our ability. The most regrettable was the match between Hanoi and Vietinbank - a match that had a decisive meaning in the possibility of staying in the league, but we did not play well."
Despite being relegated, Yen Nhi and her teammates left their mark in this year's tournament with their youthful energy, dedicated playing style, and boldness in competing against their seniors from more highly rated teams.
