When Bich Thuy went to Japan
After finishing the 2025 World Championship with the Vietnam women's team, middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy went to Japan for a trial at Okayama Seagulls club in early September.
With a good performance, the female athlete born in 2000 has officially signed a contract with this team.

Despite reaching an agreement with Okayama, Bich Thuy will still complete the second round of the national championship with Hoa Chat Duc Giang, before flying to Japan to join the new team. Okayama Seagulls are currently competing in the V.League Japan and were ranked 11/14 last season.
Normally, Japanese teams prioritize recruiting foreign players in the main striker or opposite position, but Bich Thuy is an exception, showing the high appreciation from the Japanese team for her.
Bich Thuy's specific salary was not disclosed. However, according to data from Salary Expert, the average income of professional players in Japan ranges from 2.4 to more than 4.4 million yen/year (equivalent to 493 million to more than 800 million VND), depending on experience, playing position and popularity.
Thanh Thuy shows her ability to speak Japanese
In early September, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy went to Japan to join the Gunma Green Wings club.
In the official debut video posted on the team's social networking platforms, the Vietnamese captain made a strong impression when confidently demonstrating his Japanese and English speaking ability, sending greetings as well as sharing briefly about the goals for the new season.

With extensive international experience, good adaptability and professional demeanor, Thanh Thuy continues to be expected to be an indispensable pillar in the journey to compete for a high ranking with the new team.
The 2025-2026 season in Japan will kick off on October 10, coinciding with the second phase of the 2025 National Championship in Vietnam.
Domestic fans will not be able to watch Thanh Thuy play live matches at home. However, she always receives support from fans in Vietnam.
Thanh Thuy maintains the highest performance in Japan, which means the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will be favorable because this striker will ensure her expertise when performing national missions.
