Dinh Van Duy shares about injury
Border Guard Club convincingly won the 2024 national men's championship after 13 years of waiting. One of the great contributors to this title for the army team was setter Dinh Van Duy.
Phase 2 witnessed the impressive return of Dinh Van Duy when previously, he suffered a knee injury and it seemed that he would not be able to participate in the Border Guard squad in the tournament taking place in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
"Previously, at the Army Cup (July 2024), I suffered a knee injury. After taking an X-ray to determine the injury, I had a bruised and swollen anterior cruciate ligament, and a slight tear in the meniscus. After 2 weeks, I went for a check-up and discovered that I had a partial tear of the lateral ligament. At that time, I was very depressed, not knowing if I would be able to return in the second stage of the national championship with such a serious injury.
The time to treat my injury was right when the national team gathered and went abroad to compete in the SEA V.League, so I did everything by myself at the National Sports Training Center. When the club gathered, I returned to practice with my personal doctor, following the instructions and schedule outlined to return to compete with the Border Guard in time," Dinh Van Duy shared in VTV's 360 Degree Sports program.
Sanest Khanh Hoa personnel changes
It is known that after winning the runner-up position in the 2024 National Volleyball Championship, Sanest Khanh Hoa men's volleyball club will have many personnel changes in many positions. Immediately after the end of the tournament in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, coach Bui Quang Ngoc will no longer lead Sanest Khanh Hoa.
For the domestic squad, 2025 is also the year when some important players' contracts expire. Meanwhile, Brazilian foreign player Evandro Dias Souza's contract with the coastal team will also expire after 2024.
This is certainly a big challenge for the team's leadership as they both look for a replacement for coach Bui Quang Ngoc and try to keep their key players.
National Championship changes format
In 2025, the national volleyball championship will have 8 men's teams and 8 women's teams participating, built to organize the 2-year season 2025-2026. The teams will compete in 2 rounds and each round will take place in a round-robin format and then calculate points to determine the position after the group stage. With the round-robin format in 2 rounds, each men's and women's team in the season will play a full 14 matches (7 matches in round 1 and 7 matches in round 2).
Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) emphasized that VFV will build a new competition format to create appeal and increase the number of teams to help them compete to the best of their abilities.
The national volleyball championship will be organized in a seasonal format that will improve the expertise of each participating team. In 2025, the national volleyball championship is expected to start in March 2025.
